Trust
Primarily based on the great work of Stephen M.R. Covey and the Speed of trust we look at how we can receive and distribute trust to empower ourselves and those around us.

it's built through action."
Here are four themes on which you can actively build trust at pace.

1. Integrity (the root)
​
Ensure you and your team understand each others motivations and drivers. A team charter and 'brown contract' are great ways to enable this discussion. It doesn't have to be so formal, a few chats over a coffee will do. This is about getting to know and understand each other, what you like, don't like, where the lines are and what you have in common.

2. Intent (the trunk)
​
Once you and your team understand how you want to work ensure you're doing everything you can to be transparent about why you're doing what you are. Be clear with each other on how your actions align with your shared goals and values.

Competence (the leaves)
​
Share your skills and what you're aware of within the team. I'm not a fan of 'fake it until you make it' - be honest and say things like "I'm going to try..." and "what do you think to...".
Keep reflecting on yourself and as a team to understand the reality of the situation, offering support to those around you, even if it's out of your comfort zone.
Taking time to understand other people's strengths is essential to ensure we're not setting unrealistic expectations and are able to learn with each other.

Results (the fruit)
​
Share your results and outcomes, being confident and humble is important for others to understand what you and the team are doing for those around you.
​
It can be easy to over commit, especially to timescales. Start to question what might stop you reaching your targets and communicate that with your stakeholders.
​
Excel at the basics; being at meetings on time, ensuring the group sessions achieve there outcomes in the timescales set out and keep looking for feedback knowing that when you get it you'll show the changes you've made or share your thought process.
